1967 Chevelle SS
This is an interior I worked on at Phipps' Rod and Custom. As you will notice by some of the pictures, extensive fabrication was completed on this project, including: A complete fiberglass floor pan with cut outs for carpet inserts, the factory dash was stripped to the base and outfitted with fiberglass cap on top and fiberglass extension at the bottom, fiberglass A-pillars were made to trim the front window posts, and a fiberglass console was designed to house the ignition and other electrical switches relocated from the dash. The door/quarter panels were capped with fiberglass extensions at the top and the factory pinchwell trim on the quarters was eliminated and replaced by a fiberglass extension that wrapped around the pinchwell. The trunk panels were also required a lot of fiberglass work so that they flowed into each other avoiding the flat, square look typical of many upholstered trunks--even the trunk hinges were capped with a fiberglass cover. All of these panels were smoothed out and covered in Light Beige leather and accented with chromed Phipps accessories and chromed barstock. The result is a beautiful, clean looking interior!
